Living Watchful

Ephesians 6:11-12 (NKJV): "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Colossians 2:15 (NKJV): "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."
Spiritual warfare is real, but Christ is Lord. Believers do not stand in panic; we stand in His finished victory, clothed in truth, righteousness, faith, and prayer.
Scripture warns us about deception while also commanding steady holiness and obedience (See glossary: Holiness, Watchfulness).
James 4:7 (NKJV): "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
The Reality of Fallen Angels
Scripture teaches that some angels rebelled against God and now oppose His purposes. Revelation 12:4 describes the dragon drawing a third of the stars of heaven with him, a passage often understood as referring to the fall of many angels. These fallen beings do not possess authority equal to God, but they remain part of the spiritual conflict that Scripture describes throughout history.
For this reason, believers are called not to fear spiritual opposition but to remain firm under the authority of Jesus Christ. The victory of Christ over every power of darkness is already declared in the gospel, and those who walk in Him stand secure in that victory. Discernment, prayer, and faithfulness to God's Word guard the church against deception and keep believers anchored in the truth.
Even though the world is hostile toward those who follow Christ, God restrains evil and protects His people through the presence of the Holy Spirit until the time appointed for His purposes to unfold.
The Christian life involves an ongoing struggle between the flesh and the Spirit, and believers must continually fight against sin while trusting in Christ for strength and victory.
Call to watchfulness: Keep close to Christ, resist sin, and strengthen one another in prayer. The gospel remains our message: Jesus saves, delivers, and keeps His people.
